For we are young and free

Like the Canberra Times, every respectable news outlet needs a good motto. We have such high expectations we decided to modify theirs and then add a second one for good measure.

This new media project (we’ll loosely call a blog site for now) stems from the fact regional media is continuing to shrink. We can see the impact this is having, so we thought we’d do something about it.

Our goal is simply to generate and publish content from an Australian regional perspective.

We’re not exactly sure where the Raw Prawn is going, but then Mark Zuckerberg probably said the same thing when he first heard about his roomie building something called the Facebook.

We welcome submissions for articles, features and comment. We want to know about the issues not being properly covered in mainstream media or take a contrary view to what’s out there now.

We believe there’s strength in diversity, especially when it comes to opinions and beliefs.

If this pandemic has taught us anything, our freedom is precious and worth protecting. So is a youthful sense of fun.
